Moses Lake Tribe AAU Places Fourth at Washington State Tournament
The Moses Lake Tribe sixth-grade AAU basketball team finished in the top five at the Washington state AAU competition held March 13-15, placing fourth after a grueling weekend of competition.
Competing in the silver division against 29 total teams, the Tribe rattled off three consecutive wins to advance to the semifinals before falling short. The fourth-place finish represents a strong showing for the young squad and positions them well heading into the spring and summer AAU circuit.
The state tournament is one of the premier events on the Washington AAU calendar, drawing top sixth-grade programs from across the state. For the Moses Lake program, the result validates the investment in developing young talent at the grassroots level.
The Tribe qualified for the state tournament back in January, giving the coaching staff two months to prepare the players for the intensity of state-level competition. The experience gained from three straight elimination-game wins will be invaluable as these players continue to develop.
