Colorado Crowns Six State Champions — Rock Canyon and Strasburg Make Program History

Sunday, March 15, 2026·CHSAA Now

Six boys basketball state championships were decided on the final day of the 2026 Colorado state tournament on March 14, with first-time champions and repeat dynasties sharing the spotlight.

Rock Canyon took home its first-ever boys basketball state title in Class 6A, while Strasburg accomplished the same feat in Class 3A — both programs reaching the mountaintop for the first time in school history. For Rock Canyon, the championship represents the culmination of years of building in one of Colorado's most competitive classifications.

The repeat champions were equally impressive. Simla (2A) and McClave (1A) each won their fourth overall state championship and second consecutive title, establishing themselves as the small-school dynasties to beat. Kent Denver (4A) continued its dominant run with a third overall championship and second straight, while Lutheran (5A) captured its fifth state title.

The diversity of champions — from first-time winners to established programs — reflects the competitive balance across Colorado high school basketball. Six different classifications, six different stories, and six programs celebrating their biggest moment of the season.
