Class of 2030: Early Watch List Emerging From Spring AAU Circuits

Wednesday, April 1, 2026

It's never too early in the modern recruiting landscape, and the class of 2030 is already generating significant attention from college programs as spring AAU circuits get underway.

The 2030 class — currently in 8th grade — is widely regarded as one of the deepest talent pools in recent memory, with multiple prospects projecting as high-major recruits. Spring AAU events are providing the first real evaluation opportunities of the year, and college coaches are taking notice.

What's notable about this class is the geographic diversity of the talent. Traditional hotbeds like Texas, California, and the DMV are producing top prospects as expected, but programs from the Pacific Northwest, Minnesota, and the Carolinas are also putting players on the national radar.

For youth program directors, the recruiting pipeline is a powerful selling point for families. When parents see that your program develops players who earn college attention, it validates their investment of time and money. Platforms that track player development data — IQ scores, film study participation, evaluation history — give families a tangible record of their child's growth that goes beyond wins and losses.

The spring evaluation period runs through June, with the July live period providing the biggest showcase opportunities. Programs with players in the 2030 class should be building recruiting profiles now and compiling film highlights to share with interested college programs.
